Hasham Muhammad Jamil Trust (‘HMJ’ trust)

Registered Charity no: 1041708

What Do We Do?

The aims of the HMJ  Trust are:

  • To disseminate information about the LOC syndrome.
  • To help patients and their carers learn more about the illness and treatment options available including genetics and pre-natal testing.
  • To financially support victims of LOC with their medical care
  • To help sponsor students travelling to developing countries who will be involved in voluntary work for children

Why do we do it & How can you help?

LOC invariably affects young children and most will perish from the disease before their fifth birthday.

We can help parents and the children with information on  treatment options and genetic testing. We try to help with medical equipment (eg. breathing apparatus, IT equipment for communication).

We have sponsored research and this helped identify a pre-natal test for this terrible disease.

If you know of someone – parent or child –  who might have LOC please direct them to this website.

They will be able to email us and we will do our best to help.
